Historic Advisory Committee

Meetings:
Third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Township Building and all meetings are open to the public.

The Plumstead Township Historic Advisory Committee was formed in 2002 to advise the Board of Supervisors on issues that effect historic resources. The committee also gathers historic information about the Township and provides history education to the public. (Resolution 2022-43).

The Board of Supervisors relies on the Committee to:

  • to assist and advise on historic preservation ordinances for review and approval by the Board.
  • to review pre-submission, preliminary plans and/or land development plans to determine the development's impact on historic structures.
  • to review demolition permits or advise on restoration matters that affect historic resources.
  • to review building and zoning permit applications regarding structures that have historic integrity as outlined in the historic site surveys.
  • to review sign applications that pertain to historic buildings, most notably buildings located in the VC or VR districts. The type of lighting and size would be regulated.
  • to review plans for older and/or historic bridges that are to be restored or upgraded by other governmental agencies.
  • to provide advice on other issues that affect historic structures on a case by case basis.

Veteran's Advisory AD HOC Committee

Veterans Advisory AD HOC Committee was established in 2008 for the purpose of advising the Board of Supervisors on matters involving the support of current Veterans Day event planning efforts, and develop, design and submission of a plan to the Board of Supervisors for a Veterans Memorial. To initiate and support outreach efforts on behalf of Plumstead Township residents whom have served, and are serving or have loved one currently serving abroad. Committee will be under the direction of the Township Manger and all official actions by the committee will require the approval of the Board of Supervisors.

Emergency Management Committee

The committee is made up of the Chiefs of the primary Emergency Services providers located within the Township (Police, Fire and EMS), the Emergency Management Coordinator and the Township Manager.

The Emergency Management Committee was established in 2016. The Board of Supervisors relies on the committee to advise them as to the procedures to be followed in the event of a state of emergency. The committee will also be tasked with advising the Board as to areas where emergency services within the Township may be deficient or in need of improvement.


Meetings:
The Committee shall meet quarterly. Meetings will be at 7:30 PM in the Township Building. All meetings shall be open to the public.
