In December of 2004, PennDOT closed the westbound (uphill) lane of Point Pleasant Pike between Tollgate Road and Route 32. The Pike is maintained by the State and has been deemed unsafe through that portion of road. A multi-year engineering and construction project will rebuild a section of the road.
Plumstead Township recognizes that its secondary roads will be impacted by drivers who ignore the posted detour. Enhanced speed enforcement and truck limitations will be implemented in those areas. Additional questions and concerns regarding this road project may be directed to PennDOT.
